My Books

I feel incredibly proud to have written (in collaboration with many accomplished contributors) and published two books, with a third on the way.  My books are an extension of who I am as a clinician, educator, training facilitator and leader. They reflect my commitment to clinically sound, antiracist practice and my belief that our identities, lived experiences, and silences shape how we teach, practice, and lead. Grounded in my own professional and personal journey, my writing weaves together theory, practice, and reflection, inviting readers to engage more honestly with power, trauma, and positionality. Together, my published work represents my ongoing dedication to a profession that values rigor, accountability, and humanity.

Merging Clinical Social Work Practice & Antiracist Positioning

Merging Clinical Social Work Practice and Antiracist Positioning bridges the false divide between clinical skill and social justice, offering a clear, practical framework for integrating antiracist principles into everyday clinical practice. Grounded in theory, research, and real-world application, the book challenges the notion that clinical neutrality is possible or ethical within systems shaped by structural inequity.

Designed for clinicians, educators, and students, the text centers self-reflection, positionality, action and accountability as core clinical competencies. Rather than treating antiracism as an add-on, the book positions it as essential to sound assessment, intervention, supervision, and therapeutic relationships.

The book is $62.95. If you are ordering one, let Peter Lang know you are asking for the book by title, and provide this number: #9781636673066.

What Are You Mixed With?

What Are You Mixed With? is a reflective and unapologetic exploration of Black/White biracial identity, belonging, and the personal cost of silence. Blending personal narrative with critical insight, the book examines how race, power, family dynamics, and social expectations shape how biracial individuals come to understand themselves and are understood by others.

Through lived experience and layered storytelling, the book invites readers to sit with complexity rather than certainty, challenging simplistic narratives about identity and pushing toward deeper honesty, self-definition, and healing.
